Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for USC Health, with organization-wide responsibilities, the Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer (CSBDO), in coordination with HSC Senior Leadership, is responsible for the development and execution of a Clinical Strategic Plan, Business Development, Capital Project Management and Clinical Affiliation oversight for the Medical Center.
The position guides strategy formulation and supports planning for program implementation across the clinical enterprise by developing dynamic, multi-year projections, based on an understanding of clinical trends, new research directions, and fiscal limitations. The Medical Center Planning and Business Intelligence unit researches market opportunities identifies potential merger, acquisition or affiliation opportunities and evaluates new clinical programs. The CSBDO provides leadership with timely information relevant to strategic issues confronting the organization. In support of strategic priorities that minimize risk and maximize return on investment resources, the CSBDO directs Business Development/Physician Relations. The position works with leadership to develop ambulatory and outreach strategies that increase market strength through patient referrals in support of clinical enterprise initiatives. Finally, the CSBDO manages clinical affiliation relationships of the Health Sciences, including Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA), Huntington Hospital, Hollywood Presbyterian and future partners.
This is a senior level, executive position in a demanding, prestigious academic medical center environment, and is a highly interactive and inclusive position with direct and continuous interaction with the USC Hospital Chief Executive Officer, CEO of USC Care, Joint Contracting Officer, Clinical Department Chairs, and Dean of the Keck School of Medicine.
