|Description||University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Schools and Programs.
Assistant Vice President, Schools and Programs:
Works directly with schools and deans as well as units and program directors to coordinate overall development efforts to support schools, units and program areas more effectively. Coordinates resources and activity. Creates best practices and implements an execution-oriented University advancement program. Leads and manages the creation and implementation of strategy for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and gift closure of the priority individual major and principal gift prospects in coordination and collaboration with ARD staff, Schools and Programs leadership, Trustees and other volunteers.
Works with the Schools and Programs leaders, ARD staff, faculty, Trustees, philanthropists and other volunteers to create a comprehensive, multi-year strategic advancement plan. Directs the implementation of the plan to meet annual and long-term goals. Uses programmatic components to engage potential donors and create opportunities for donor support. Conceptualizes communications and outreach activities to promote, cultivate and recognize top donors. Directs, monitors and evaluates the implementation of a comprehensive Schools and Programs communications plan. Serves as a key spokesperson for Schools and Programs and its initiatives as needed. Builds relationships with prospective donors, Trustees, other volunteers and University leaders through visits, events, correspondence and regular calls. Solicits gifts and negotiates complex gift discussions.
Oversees all fundraising efforts in collaboration and coordination with ARD. Serves as a lead strategist or University Relationship Manager (URM) for a pool of top prospective donors on behalf of and for the benefit of the entire University. Coordinates with departments in ARD to maximize mutually beneficial fundraising results and report on them. Actively sets a professional example for staff leadership of other strategic priorities of the University. Manages budget and staff to execute these responsibilities in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner.
