|Description||UC Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara, California is seeking a DEVELOPMENT OFFICER II.
This University Major Gifts Development Officer serves as a lead Director of Development ("Director") for the Division of Social Sciences in the College of Letters and Science. Works to optimize philanthropic support for the Social Sciences, in response to academic priorities established by the Social Sciences Dean. As a member of the Development Office staff, fund raising efforts are devoted primarily to the Social Sciences, with the remaining time to other University initiatives, as appropriate.
Focuses approximately ninety percent time on direct fund-raising activities, split between major gifts ($100K+) and gifts between $1,000 - $75,000. Ten percent is focused on other activities related to fund raising and administrative duties such as coordinating and executing aspects of the Social Sciences development program.
Coordinates and executes planned strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, closing and stewardship of gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations. Works personally with top donor prospects and supports the Social Sciences Dean, faculty and volunteers in top prospect relationships when, in order to maximize philanthropic support for the Social Sciences and UC Santa Barbara, raising gifts to meet identified fund raising priorities.
Works to ensure that all aspects of his/her development program are internally consistent, thematically related, and compatible with the policies and priorities of the Social Sciences Division, Development Office and University.
