General Responsibilities:
To qualify for a Graduate Assistantship, you must be unconditionally accepted as a Graduate Degree Student at North Central College and must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.00 at the time of application. These are 10-month appointments (mid-August through mid-June), averaging 20 hours per week, with a maximum two year appointment. Graduate Assistants receive tuition waivers and a monetary stipend based on the position appointment.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree, preferably in the liberal arts or in a professional program with a strong liberal arts component, is required. Candidate must be admissible to a North Central College graduate degree program.

1.Enforces the rules and regulations of the College as well as city, state, and federal statutes.
2.Responsible for the security and safety of the apartment buildings, college buildings, students, faculty, staff, and guests.
3.Emergency response for personal injuries, fire and burglary alarms and requests for service when needed.
4.Active in crime prevention, detection, investigation, and protection.
5.Responsible for openings, closings and access control for all college buildings.
6.Patrol college property and grounds throughout entire assigned work hours.
7.Provides security for special events (e.g. Commencement, Move-in Days, Matriculation Ceremony, etc.)
8.Enforces campus parking policies and coordinates procedures for vehicle registration for faculty/staff, students, and guests.
9.Writes and submits reports in professional and timely fashion.
10.Other duties as assigned.
Additional Security Staff Job Functions (applicable to all Security staff)

1.Provides escorts as needed.
2.Provides miscellaneous services when requested: such as office lockouts, room lockouts and vehicle lockouts, etc.
